How the insulated conservatory roof system works

If you want to know how efficient your conservatory is regarding heat loss you have to look at the U values. The better the building is insulated the lower the U value becomes. U values for polycarbonate and glass roofs are very high. This is the main reason why they are so hot and uncomfortable in the summer (with the solar heat conducted into the room) and so cold in the winter (with extreme heat loss).

Insulation DiagramBy using Yorkshire Conservatory Roof Insulation you are reducing your U values from standard 1.61 to 0.42 and, by doing so, making your conservatory useable all year round. To give you an idea please see the diagram to the right (cool areas in blue and high heat loss in pink). Roofs and windows are top of the list that is why installing our system in your conservatory will lower your U value.

These results are achieved by using a 19 layer insulation of a reflective material and by cross battening it to give a sufficient air flow which prevents condensation or sweating. The roof is then finished with a 10mm plaster board and skim.

All work is carried out to the inside of the conservatory and the overall headroom loss is no more that 55mm in height reduction.

This system is installed by a time-served tradesman only and two days is the most it will take to install.
